From the 12th -16th September hundreds and hundreds of new students arrived at both the Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses to move into their new accommodation. If it was not for the dedication and willingness of our SU Ambassadors who volunteered to assist, it would have been an impossible task!

Anglia Ruskin Students' Union would like to say a massive thank you to all of those who volunteered. All of the SU Ambassadors turned up and did their best to meet each student with a smile and a helping hand.

Many students and their parents fed back to SU staff that the support from these ambassadors made moving away from home that little bit easier for them. Hearing stories from current students about their time at Anglia Ruskin helped towards settling the nerves, and being given info on upcoming events gave new students an idea of things to look forward to. The ambassdors were even praised for looking after upset parents who were finding hard to say goodbye to their son or daughter.

Many of the new arrivals found that the familiar face of the SU Ambassador who helped them move in, also helped them meet new friends; they were able to meet other new students through the SU Ambassadors.

In the odd quiet moment before greeting more cars arriving full of boxes, bags and nervous students, the SU Ambassadors could be found spending time with the new residents of each halls in the car parks. Occasionally the ambassadors were even found teaching each other to juggle or unicycle - a multitude of hidden skills were revealed, but all to the amusment to the new arrivals! And of course the free sunglaases went down a treat, they were a real conversational piece and called for many photo opportunites.

Once again, Thank You to the SU Ambassadors who gave up their time to help - we really couldn't have done it without you!
