Cambridge Committee Member of the Month October: Max Colverson

Our Cambridge Committee Member of the Month, Max Colverson, on the successes of running the AMT Society.

VotM

Max Colverson is a second year BSc (Hons) Audio and Music Technology student and president of the AMT (Audio Music Technology) Society.

With the AMT Society having a difficult start to the year, due to low intake numbers on the AMT course, Max has been able show real leadership to steer the ship around. Through his role, Max has coached members of the society how to set up and use various pieces of equipment including in sound and lighting as well as artist liaison and event management. Max and his society members have subsequently been able to help out at over a dozen events already this year.

Matt Hayes, Vice President for Science and Engineering, reflects:

“Max was born to be a leader. He is always keen to both teach and learn and has done such a great job that some volunteers are ALREADY starting to help out at events. He is both fun and inspiring.”

Through his role Max is also trying to find his members additional volunteering and paid opportunities to further increase and utilise their course related skills.

Thanks Max for epitomizing the values of the Union and using your skills and passion for the enjoyment and education of others.
