ARU has made a number of commitments over the last year to progress Race Equality within our university community.
We must acknowledge however, that racism exists on our campuses and in society and it’s our responsibility to identify and reject it in all its forms.
We have several initiatives already underway to reach our goal of race equality through cultural change and we’d like to invite you to the launch of our biggest initiative to date – our Race Equality Strategy.
The launch event is for ARU staff and students to hear more detail about the strategy from Roderick Watkins, Vice Chancellor and Aletta Norval, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, and SU President Cavya Antony.
They’ll be joined by a panel of members of the Race & Ethnic Equality staff network (REEN) and some of our student Race Equality Advocates, who will lead a Q&A session where the audience of staff and students will be encouraged to ask questions, contribute and help inform how we can take our strategy forward.
We encourage all staff and students to come along to the event to hear about this exciting new venture to learn how we can work together to fight racism at ARU.
