Promote, Prosper and Preserve
The Student Body requires someone:
Who will listen to their concerns and will act upon their feedback.
Who will be proactive and find sustainable solutions with the student’s interest at the forefront for any change.
Who will go above and beyond to represent the faculty to the best of their ability.
Who will hold decision makers accountable and stand up for our student body.
Who will humbly serve their faculty and not use their power for their own interests.
I strongly believe that these above statements are required for a leader who will make positive changes in their campaign. It is not just enough to govern through words, but to practise what I believe in. Everyday I aim to be a blessing to other people because my legacy is the lives that I inspire.
About me
Personal Trainer and Peer Wellbeing Mentor.
Personal Training and Peer Wellbeing Mentoring has allowed me support people with making positive changes to improve their lives. I have connected with students on a level that I would not have in any other job. These experiences deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by many of my peers, which ignited my cause to stand for Vice President.
I believe that health, fitness and wellbeing are an important part of life, which is why it is vital to ensure that all students are happy, eating well and keeping active.
My Mission
There has been a rapid decline in participation rates in various on campus activities and if nothing is done, the social impact in our community will be detrimental.
My mission is to integrate health, wellbeing and fitness by working with existing student services, societies and sports clubs to promote, prosper and preserve long lasting changes in the quality of student life.
Promote, Prosper and Preserve
- Add more natural landscapes around the campus and develop a quiet space for everyone to access in the university.
- Help break down the stigmas attached to many mental health problems and open more conversations about Mental health.
- Specialisation into different demographics. A targeted approach for specific groups can give more attention to the different problems faced. Campaigns on male mental health, female mental health, LGBTQ+ as well as domestic students and international students.
Fitness
- Make sports clubs and societies more affordable and accessible.
- Additional group fitness classes that are enjoyable, affordable and Convenient.
- Create fitness challenges and events to get our community more active.
Healthier Eating
- Work with the university cafés and restaurants to add more nutritious but tasty and affordable food options.
- Raise awareness on the importance of nutrition through healthy eating campaigns, which will provide guidance and motivation on leading a healthier lifestyle.
- Find solutions to decongest the campus restaurants and cafés to reduce waiting times for food.
Social
- Improve the participation rates in our societies and events by finding long term solutions to the challenges faced by the organisers and the students.
- Create more sustainable social spaces on campus.
- Work with existing organisations, such as Students at the Heart of Knowledge and Exchange (SHoKE) for driving social changes in our community.
- Improve the tidiness of our student union and combat littering around the campus.
