MANIFESTO

Candidate for the position of LLM Legal Practice / LLM Advanced Legal Practice - Course Rep

Charlotte Cooke

Hello Everyone! I am Charlotte Cooke and this bye-election I am standing to be your LLM Legal Practice / LLM Advanced Legal Practice Course Rep. I may not have been a student at ARU long, but thanks to the staff and my fellow students I have really begun to feel more settled. This has given me the confidence boost to nominate myself for this role and if successful, give back and help those who have helped me.

At my previous university, I was lucky enough to be elected as the Women’s Rep for their LGBT+ Campaigns group. Being in this role helped build up my confidence and my public speaking ability, I would therefore use these skills to represent the needs of my fellow students and ensure their voices are heard in the Student Staff Liaison Committee.

I feel that now more than ever it is important to make sure that students have their voices heard, especially if they are struggling with these strange times we are currently living in. I hope I can justly represent everyone, no matter whether they are solely online or doing a blended option like myself and work with the Executive Committee to do that. If successful I aim to ensure that everyone on my course has access to a suitable option to contact me, so no matter where we are they can still express their concerns that I can relay to the appropriate people.

Thank you for taking the time for reading my manifesto and considering me for your LLM Legal Practice / LLM Advanced Legal Practice Course Rep.
