MANIFESTO

Candidate for the position of BA (Hons) History - Year 1 Rep

CALLUM MCLEAN

My name is Callum and I am a first year History student. I am standing for Course Representative because I want to give my peers and friends a voice in these very trying and difficult times to be a human being let alone to be a student. I believe in ensuring that my fellow students feel they have a voice and are confident to use it in confidential and friendly manner.

My ideas include (but are not limited to):

  1. Creating a community for our course. We will look after one another and be aware of the struggles that COVID-19 has brought upon student life. Whether it be work, study, social life or recreation- life has got pretty tricky but with a little innovation we can still make this the best 3 years of our lives.
  2. Increase support networks. University can be a culture shock for many with the temptations of nightlife (whether it be drink or drugs), juggling a part time job with your studies or simply getting out there and pursuing your passions with confidence. We are here for you.
  3. I'm here to represent you. I will ensure that all decisions made are in the best interests of us and inform you of these decisions as soon as I possibly can.

It would be an honour to be your History representative and I look forward to serving passionately.
