Hi. My name is Peter Coleman. I would like to split the reasons why I am running for course rep. into two main points. The first concerns me, the second my coursemates.
Firstly, I am running to ensure I progress further with my life. I have rarely taken on responsibilities of this nature before in my life, which is my loss, mainly because I do not think I possess the right qualities or that I am ready for such responsibility. However, I am now at a stage of my life where I am more comforble in my own skin and am ready to take on more responsibility. I am more confident and gregarious, and therefore more able to enjoy the role than I would have if I had wanted to do it at an earlier stage in my life. I feel this position would present a new challenge and thus advance me further in my development as a human being.
Secondly, I am running because I like this course. Without resorting to the old cliches (it is my calling, my passion etc.), I feel a great affinity towards this course, as if it was always meant to be where I would end up. I like my coursemates. They are friendly and exceptionally talented people, and I wish to make it my responsibility to ensure their views are heard, and that they are represented fairly and honestly. Several of them have already suggested I run for this position ("you like to talk a lot" was a reason that was often given), but joking aside I would like to think I am a good fit and that I can do justice to this role.
Thank you for reading
Peter Coleman
