My name is Elizabeth Opeche. I am nominating myself for the position of the course rep - MA Social Work ARU Chelmsford 2020.

Background:

I started off by supporting my course mates as we all commenced our new journey during this unprecedented times. It is new ways of working for the school and they are trying to adapt. It is strange and unexpected for the students making it very challenging. I took it upon myself to ensure that all my course mates had a central point of commucation which has become a major support mechanism. When we became aware of this position my course mates immediately nominated me.

What i can offer:

I am a natural at helping others. All my course mates can attest to that. I have good negatiation skills. This will come handy in bridging the gap between the students need and what the faculty has to offer. I am very dependable,  friendly, honest, sincere, trustworthy, reasonable and integrity is my watchword.

What I will do:

I will continue to facilitate effective communication between students and the faculty. Organise discussion forums where students can discuss pressing issues.

Respectfully communicate student issues with the faculty whilst maintaining confidentiality where necessary.

Ensure that students are supported to achieve their academic goal. In doing this, I will ensure that i represent their voice by listening effectively, seek solution and communicate feedback.

Ultimately, my aim is to ensure that all my course mates encounter a unique experience and achievement as they work hard towards their studies at ARU.
