Cameron Lee – Student Rep Manifesto

Year 2 Paramedic Science

Hello all, for those of you that don’t know me I’m a student Paramedic in second year on Chelmsford campus, I'm looking to make as much positive impact on our course as I possibly can despite all the challenges 2020 has brought us! I’m hoping for those that know me I already have some of your votes – but for those that need a little convincing, I’m going to outline some key changes I’d like to see introduced to our course in the future.

  • Communication Streamlining In order to create more effective communication between staff and students, I will be recommending that a single stream of information is used by all course staff in order to communicate timetabling and content announcements.
  • Further use of the Skills labs Although COVID-19 has made face-to-face teaching more difficult as of late, I understand our predicament of being second-year students with no placement experience, I would like to attempt to get more skills lab time for students, especially to reinforce those first-year skills that may have faded in the past months.
  • Accessibility to online resources I will liaise with course staff and I.T to ensure a comprehensive guide to MS teams, zoom, canvas, etc. is available to all students, and ensure online content is made available to view easily through these channels.
  • Placement information I will push for as much up-to-date information to be fed to us as it comes as possible in order to be more prepared come November.

This is only a beginning to what we are able to achieve as a student community, I hope you will all join me in bringing this excellent course to the very peak of what I know it can be,

Many Thanks,

Cameron
