KIRSTEN MCGHEE

I am applying for the role of Sport and Exercise Therapy Student Representative as I believe it will help me to become well-rounded as a Therapy student and more importantly, a well-rounded Therapy professional.

Previously, I have had experience as a Partner Voice Representative at my local Waitrose store, I have also had the opportunity to host meetings within two successful food businesses within London and helped to organise businesses throughout the pandemic. Not only this, but the experiences throughout Year 1 as the student representative taught me the importance of listening and relaying back the views of my peers to ensure that their voices were represented which enabled positive change.

I am very passionate about Sports Therapy and believe it is a profession to be proud of and that is also incredibly important, especially at a time where recruitment and retention is particularly challenging. I would therefore like to do what I can to assist in making the student Therapist experience great here at Anglia Ruskin and am keen to be the voice to represent other students on this course.

I believe my previous experiences will help me to shine in the role and will ensure that the views and opinions of my peers are represented in meetings.

I am hopeful that any positive changes we are able to influence will not only benefit our current cohort, but also benefit future Student Sport and Exercise Therapy Students.
