HEMS (Chelmsford) Faculty Rep Manifesto

Olu Onasanya
About Me:
I am a second year Child Nursing student. At current I have two years’ experience as a course rep and I am currently the Vice-President for Child Nursing Society. This year I am one of the students who have attended meetings with the senior staff and I am representing HEMS for NMC to validate the RN2020 Curriculum.
I am approachable, an outgoing person, and not afraid of speaking up, which is why I would make an excellent faculty rep. I am organised and get things done quickly. I am passionate about expressing fellow students' views and making positive changes to enhance students’ experience.
Experience and Current Achievements:
- Attended several SSLC meetings.
- Attending and contributing to course rep and student champions meetings.
- Raising awareness of key issues to students.
- Represented students at the HEE Learner Engagement Event in Cambridge.
- Represented students of my year group in rolling out the RN2020 curriculum.
- Building a key network with fellow course mates, key academics and university staff.
- Building a good rapport with fellow students including those from other faculties.
- A welcome Buddy for ARU.
My Aims for the 2020/21 Academic Year:
- Within the faculty, I will improve communication between the different branches of nursing and HEMS in general.
- I will ensure that burning issues are resolved effectively and quickly.
- I will continually get involved in chats, forums and the building of a formidable HEMS Community in ARU.
- I will volunteer at events and get involved with reps from other faculties.
- I will continually support, represent and feedback to students as at when due; on important issues.
- I aim to speak to as many students as possible, engaging them at all levels to make a better faculty.
- Where possible, I aim to recognise reps for their hard work.
- I hope to promote collaborative relationship between the BME and other students.
Conclusively, I promise to serve the ARU community as a whole to the best of my ability.
