As a Union we have made many changes this year some small constant changes like making our website more accessible, increasing personalised news articles and worked on officer campaigns to support international and EU students.

This article will go on to discuss departmental updates from Representation and HR on changes you have helped them make.

Representation Team

We have worked on improved Course Rep training including skype or telephone training to meet a variety of needs. Based upon student feedback we are continuing to improve this area and hope to be launching some online options and quick video tutorials and refreshers for students to access in their own time.

To support you better we have updated our web pages with clearer explanations of Rep and Officer Roles to support student knowledge during elections as well as this we have moved to a more accessible drag and drop, photo voting system which avoids the more difficult numbering systems we used in the past.

*calling all student reps* we have reviewed the way we communicate with our reps and have adjusted our emailing system to become less frequent and more consistent. We have started the process to move our National Conference Delegate elections to the second trimester, making them more accessible to a wider number of students

We also have International, and Liberation representatives elected by you each year who support students who would like to be involved in change. If you think you could be a representative and want to find out more go to our website or speak to the rep team today.

Student Staff (HR)

We are looking to make the following changes with the Universities support for September.

We have approached the Accommodation and International Office teams to ask them to include details of job vacancies we have in their news letters to students. We are also hoping to display job opportunities on accommodation notice boards.  This we hope will raise awareness of our job opportunities for students who are new to the area or who are living on Campus.

Watch this space! The Advice team and Mary are currently working on developing a video updating you on all the ways they represent you.
