ARU Students' Union is here to help make sure all students are represented and to transform students’ ideas into positive change.

Blessing Raimi is a second year Graphic Design student and was the representative for her course last year, she tells us how and why she got involved:

Hi Blessing, firstly, what motivated you to stand as a Rep?

Wanting our voices as students to be heard to improve our university experience.

What’s the best thing about being a Rep?

Seeing the changes made based on the feedback from students, showing that our views and concerns are valued.

What does being a Rep involve?

It definitely involves communication, teamwork and being able to stand up for ourselves to ensure the university becomes a better environment for us.

Would you recommend being a Rep to other students?

I definitely would. It's an invaluable and rewarding experience. If you want to stand up for your fellow students and make positive changes then this is the role for you.

What’s your ultimate ARU moment?

Receiving the Volunteering Honours award from the Student's Union.

By standing as a Rep you have the chance to be the change you want to see. Be a leader and join a team of 600 students dedicated to improving university life and the student experience. Nominate yourself here.
