ARU Students’ Union advice team can also support you with homesickness and mental health enquiries. If you need to understand how facing challenges links to late mitigation we can advise you. If you require support with Visa’s and UK VI. Please visit the International Office where they have trained International Advisers who can support you with this.

Academic Writing and Referencing

Some of our international students have raised that tackling academic writing in another culture can create additional barriers, from simply understanding UK referencing, to other academic worries, for this we always endorse checking out Study Skills Plus.

How do I book an appointment with an SU Adviser?

This year we have invested in an online booking system to improve accessibility for the service, that way you can book register for the service online and book an appointment with an adviser whether that be through email or face-to-face. We often update our website with the latest information regarding drop-in sessions, including, the latest news, please keep an eye-out.

For those studying in Young Street, Cambridge campus we have started doing a drop in service in Young Street and are putting together the details to also start a drop in service in Peterborough.

If you’re not sure exactly what you want to talk about, come and speak to us at the SU anyway we will do our best to find you the support you might need. We can help you create Cultural Societies, join existing groups, speak to your international Rep and more.

We hope that you now know a little more about the services we can help you with at the Students Union.
