12th September
Join us in our SU space in Peter Taylor House for some snacks and drinks - non-alcoholic drinks also! Meet some new people and have a chill out.
13th September
Everything kicks off on the 13th with the International Quiz. Although aimed at international students, all students are welcome to come share their knowledge of the world and enjoy some drinks from The Academy.
Come on down to Peter Taylor House to meet up with your Executive Officer Team and meet some of the ARU Students’ Union staff who have made the magic of Freshers possible! If you have any questions, this is a great opportunity to ask away, whether it’s about upcoming events, societies, volunteering, or something else – we’re happy to help. We can’t wait to meet you!
Meet us at the ARU Students’ Union space in Peter Taylor House, and we’ll be your guides for a campus tour! We’ll show you all the key spots and where the action happens. But if there’s anything you particularly want to see, just let us know and we’ll show you it.
14th September
The Welcome Party will be hosted at our on campus venue, The Academy. This is a great opportunity for you to meet new people and make some friends. The bar and the DJ will keep you entertained all night!

15th September
This is the official launch party for ARU Freshers 2018. We are so excited to welcome all you new students, and what better way to do that than throw a massive party at The Academy with some cheap drinks and secret goodies?
16th September
This is a great chance to meet your SU team! Have a drink with us, and meet some new friends.
Here’s your chance to say goodbye summer, hello uni. Put on your best summer attire, and boogie on down to the summer soundtracks.
17th September
No no, this isn’t like bingo your aunt plays. This is Freshers bingo! And that means cheap drinks, and a party atmosphere!
Love UV lights? Glowsticks? Face paint? Then get down to Revolution on the 17th for a fun night of UV glow!
If you missed our Campus Tour the other day, then we’re doing another one today!
Come on down to Peter Taylor House to have a coffee and get to know the other students. The Officers will also be there to answer any questions, and to offer their best tips for life at university!
Want to make a difference? Join the other 2300 student volunteers at ARU who are helping their local communities and building skills that make them stand out from the crowd.

Love a bit of karaoke? Then make sure you head to The Academy on the 18th to sing your heart out. We’ve got the songs, the stage, and the microphones – now all we need is you!

This is the biggest event of the whole week! Make sure to check it out. We’ll have loads of freebies and discounts that you won’t want to miss. Come down and find out about all the societies on offer, and see what’s going on.
Fancy a tour of Freshers Fair before it starts? Join our lovely Officer team for a guided tour in a small, quieter group to have a look round before it all begins.
This is the most fabulous event of the entire week. With glitter, lip sync battles, and themed cocktails, it’s time to come on down to The Academy, and have an amazing night at Rainbow!
If live entertainers, prop giveaways, and competitions sound up your street, then make sure you head to Revolution on the 21st for a night of fun and goodies!
22nd September
Get your masks out, because this masquerade ball is going to be awesome! Grab your lock or key at the front door, and find your perfect match to meet new friends or someone special. With a live DJ, photo-booth, and cheap drinks, this will be a night to remember. We’ll also be running a competition for the best mask, so get creative!
23rd September
As Freshers comes to a close, enjoy a chill out in The Academy while watching some films with your friends. The bar will still be open however, for those of you who are willing to risk a hangover on your first day of lectures!
We’re rounding off Freshers Week with a foam party! With foam cannons, it’s going to get really foamy! Come party hard and enjoy the last night of Freshers.
