Q1: Tell us about yourself! Who are you and what are your interests?
Hi, my name is Ikisha Shaw. I am currently in my 3rd year studying criminology and sociology. Outside of university my passion is nails and nail art. I have been in the industry for 9 years now and I am now ready to expand.
Q2: Why did you sign up to Creative Minds?
I signed up to creative minds after being told about it by the Students' Union. It’s a great way to get involved with other activities within the university and a great way to promote my creative skills to other students.
Q3: What would you like to gain from the Creative Minds project/what have you gained from it so far?
I would like to gain more exposure for my business amongst the students, build a client base and relationships with more students.
Q.4 What creative projects are you currently working on/looking for?
I am currently also working for a company in London called WAH Nails/London who are the company that kick started nail art onto the fashion run ways in 2009. I am working with WAH nails/London as the Masterclass Director – which involves me teaching members of the public nail care tips and basic nail art techniques.
Q5. What events would you like to see?
I would like to see more beauty based events, something that brings more people together.
I would like to see events similar to what my job role is at WAH London.
Q6: What does being creative mean to you?
Creativity to me is Therapy.
Q7: Finally, who’s your favourite artist or entrepreneur?
My favourite entrepreneur is Sharmadean Reid.
She is the founder and owner of WAH London. She is an incredibly strong, innovative and beautiful young women who has been awarded with an MBE for her contribution the beauty industry since 2008/2009. She has also managed this as single parent.
