We are recruiting volunteers to help support Diabetes UK at the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race which takes place on Sunday 30th April 2023. This is a great opportunity to support the charity at a unique event. The Great Dunmow Soapbox Race is a family friendly event, and we are looking for volunteers to offer their support for the whole day, or part of the day. Opportunities will be available from 6am-6pm. There will be various volunteer roles available on the day, including helping to raise awareness of diabetes at a specific stand on site, marshalling the carpark/racetrack and collecting monies are just a few. If you have special skills or experience, we will take this into account when allocating volunteer roles. Similarly, we will listen to what you tell us about any additional needs you may have and make sure you are allocated a role you are comfortable with. The event is being organised by Great Dunmow Round Table and we have been selected as one of the charities to benefit from the funds raised during the day. The organisers anticipate upwards of 15,000 people are likely to attend the event based on the past few year’s attendances. We expect the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race to be a fantastic fun, family day out and we are delighted to be able to offer you this exciting opportunity to volunteer for our charity.
