Dynamic Health (Physio) Administration Volunteer

This opportunity takes place from 01 Dec 2022

This volunteer role is an opportunity to gain experience of an NHS environment. Volunteers will be helping to improve patient experience and supporting the Dynamic Health Team by telephoning patients that have attended appointments and classes, gaining feedback about their experience and informing them about relevant community activities to support their recovery. Volunteers will also assist with general administration tasks. Volunteers will have the opportunity to complete the National Volunteer Certificate if they wish.

Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement and strength, and reducing pain from musculoskeletal problems or post-surgery. Our Dynamic Health service supports people aged 16 years and over living with or experiencing problems from muscles, nerves and joints. These are known as musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. Dynamic Health also provides MSK occupational health services and pelvic health physiotherapy.

All volunteers are recruited in line with NHS Employers guidelines - these include right to work and identity checks, Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) clearance if relevant to the role, references and occupational health clearance. Volunteers also complete a mandatory training booklet which is repeated annually.

What attributes would your ideal volunteer have?

Good communication skills. Comfortable with using IT to enter data onto our systems. Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months volunteering, for a minimum of a morning or afternoon per week (M-F 9-5).

What skills would the volunteer gain?

Experience of NHS environment. Working independently and as part of a team. Communicating with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Basic IT skills.
