SHoKE Safer Streets - join a regional project to improve the safety of women and girls.
Are you concerned about women and girls' safety?
Act now to help improve the safety of women and girls by sharing your ideas with Essex Police.
Join a regional project to create Safer Streets led by Essex Police and Essex County Council. The police need your ideas and help to create Safer Streets. Submit your ideas now!
Real change needs to happen, that’s why we’re asking passionate students to put forward creative ideas. Watch the launch recording to find out more on what the police are looking for.
Essex police will view all ideas and then they will select some. After Christmas student teams will look at developing the ideas and work collaboratively with the police for implementation. If your idea is selected, you will be notified and offered this opportunity.
Here's how you can get involved
Submit a one-two minute video of your idea – click here to upload (max file size 100mb).
All entries must be from individuals or a maximum team of two students.
Multiple individual entries can be made, and we welcome entries from all students.
You can be creative with your video – you can use animation, speak to the camera, or film a presentation. It is up to you.
The idea is all you need, big, small, or complex, so don’t worry if you don’t have a detailed plan or know the next steps
Come along to our brainstorming sessions on the KE Community (optional):
• Thursday 25 Nov, 11:00 – 12:00
• Wednesday 1 Dec, 14:00 – 15:00
All information on how to enter and support available is on the KE Community (MS Teams channel) in the Safer Streets channel. You can join the channel here for access to the information.
Video applications are open and close on Monday 6 December, 13:00. You will be notified by Friday 17 December if your idea has been chosen.
