Cambridge Re-Use Volunteering Roles

Cambridge Re-Use helps people that are struggling on a low income to buy furniture and household goods. We collect donated items from the general public and sell them at low cost in our warehouse to people on a low income. We have a dedicated team of 20+ volunteers giving their time each week. There are many other roles and opportunity within Cambridge Re-Use. They will do their very best to create a role which is best suited with your interest, experience and personal goal.

Currently Active Volunteering Roles:

Reception Volunteer- These volunteers are the first point of contact for visitors to our furniture store and for potential donors wishing to help us by donating unwanted items of furniture.

Tasks include; welcoming and registering new customers, helping customers buy goods in the store, carrying out sales, dealing with telephone inquires from donors and various administrative tasks

Store Volunteer- Store Assistants carry out a wide variety of tasks within the store, some of which are dependent on the skills the volunteer has to offer

Tasks include; helping with loading and unloading the van, moving furniture within the store, helping customers to load furniture into their vehicles, dismantling and constructing furniture, cleaning the warehouse

Gumtree Volunteer- You role will overseeing the Gumtree Account, which include maintaing the account, taking pictutures of items and listing them onto Gumtree. 

Cambridge Re-Use is open Monday- Saturday between 10am-4pm, and the roles will be done on a rota basis.
