This opportunity takes place between 01 Aug 2023 and 31 Jul 2024

Take part in this exciting online 24-hour social action challenge and team up with other ARU students to work with partner organisations to solve real-life social issues. This is an opportunity for all students from all levels and faculties.

Your volunteering matters - our communities are trying to develop solutions to the many challenges we are facing such as climate change, health issues and effective social policy. Our partners are looking for fresh thinking and you can help them You will work collaboratively in a team and practically apply your experience and skills.

We believe in the importance of student voice, the breadth of knowledge and lived experience each student holds. You should believe it too and join Impact 24. 

What can you gain? 

We understand that university can sometimes be a challenge, with meeting new people, potentially experiencing imposter syndrome, assessments and thinking about future employability. But Impact 24 has you covered! 

As part of the Impact:24 project team, you will work with staff from partner organisations on real-life challenges. With mentor support, you will gain confidence, experience problem-solving, meet new people, develop your own strengths and most importantly make a difference. 

Rewards and recognitions 

You will be sent a digital badge detailing your contribution and skills development which you can add to your LinkedIn. 

Log your hours and skills on Student Union Volunteering website to earn rewards. 

What kind of problems will I be working on?  

Partner organisations such as Local Councils, the NHS and Charities will submit societal challenges they currently face; such as social inclusion, homelessness, mental health, and energy efficiency.
