We are looking for volunteer mentors (aged 18+) to work with Community360 and the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, across Essex, to engage and inspire families who need support over a 10 week period. Providing weekly sessions to focus on their needs and providing signposting and guidance, you would be encouraging families and children (aged 8-19) to take part in new activities, develop new skills and build their confidence.
As a volunteer Family Mentor you will:
- Support parents, children and families to make positive lifestyle choices
- Enable families to recognise their achievements and positive behaviours, so as to build confidence and skills
- Help those who may be having difficulties to access wider support services and activities
- Encourage families to find solutions to challenges and to be better connected in their local community

Volunteers will be able to support families across the whole of Essex, being supported by a designated Supervisor along the way.
Families will be engaged with via Phone, Zoom/Teams, or Face to Face (full support can be provided in the use of video calling).
Volunteers will be provided with a comprehensive induction and training programme.
This role may include some evenings and weekends but is fully flexible to your needs.
Volunteers will be made aware of, and be expected to adhere to, safeguarding policies.
Volunteers would be requested to support for a minimum of once a week for approximately 2-3 hours over a ten week period.
Out of pocket expenses will be paid.

Based across Essex, excluding Southend and Thurrock. Support can be offered from a community hub alongside staff or from the comfort of your own home.
