Volunteers will be working with schools delivering extra-curricular clubs as well as PE lessons. The organisation also runs football projects for children to get involved in which run most evenings in and around Cambridge.

Active Science Assistant

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

This volunteer role is to support teaching in primary schools (year 5/6 (10/11 years old)) by using sport to work through a science booklet. The volunteer will help children with scientific equipment and ask prompting questions in the lessons.

What skills do I need?

• Interest in teaching, science, sport or sport science. • Positive, friendly attitude.

What will I gain?

• Experience of working with children and using physical activity for teaching.

Training and support

• Additional training provided where needed.

Time commitment

• A minimum of 1 hour a week is expected for this role.

A DBS (criminal record) check is required for this role. This organisation will supply a DBS check for you (with a £10 fee).
