Law Society - Cambridge

WHY DO YOU NEED TO JOIN US?

“All young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential.” - Harvey Milk

Our team here at the Law Society aims to create an ultimate safe and secure space for all young indviduals to thrive and grow in! We believe that anyone can achieve their fullest potential in a supportive and wleocming environment!

All our activities this year are directed towards one aim - to support and encourage you in your career journeys - whether barrister or solicitor routes. It does not have to be a career in law that you are pursuing, because the knowledge of law and how it can be applied is always required whatever you do.

We are aiming to keep you updated of the talks, conferences, panels and other events which may be of interest to you, which will boost your general knowledge of law and commercial awareness. There are so many fascinating things going on on- and off-campus, and it is very easy to miss them. We will make sure you don’t!

We, as a Committee, are also keen to deliver regular events that will open the door to a wealth of information, advice and useful contacts, such as guest speaker events, talks and workshops, organised by the Society or in collaboration with the Faculty of Business and Law, Law School, Law Clinic and Employability Services. Joining us for these activities will be absolutely invaluable for you, as it will let you network with professionals and help develop other soft skills.

The membership of a Law Society is also a valuable addition to your CV that will show the employers that you are not only actively involved with your course, but are also interested in further opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. And this holds true not only for the Law Students!

For all the non-law students

If you want to know more about the law and how it works in practice, if you want to show your employer that you are not only interested in what you are studying but also involved with other areas of practice, and if you merely want to expand your knowledge – join the Law Society! We will be offering a variety of events this year, and you may well be interested in attending many of them!
