Sunstone Society

We have started Sunstone Society because BDSM – Bondage and Discipline, Domination and Submission, Sadism and Masochism – is a world filled with stereotypes and misinformation. We have created an inclusive space for all genders, sexual and relationship orientations, and ethnic or religious backgrounds where people can explore this issue.

Recent studies defend that BDSM can help provide tools and learnings that have an impact on one’s personal, academic and professional life.

In this way, the Sunstone Society aims to widen our understanding of sexuality and to problematize the ways in which stigma is associated with non-normative, but consensual, approach to pleasure, pain and power play.

In order to do so, we are aiming to provide our members with a range of diversified events: from an Online Book Club to different talks, munches and Q&As about BDSM – touching on the importance of consent, aftercare, among others – and to diverse demonstrations – such as Shibari and Sex Toys.

There is no minimum experience required, only an open mind and a willingness to explore and discuss BDSM and its related topics.

There's a bit of everything for everyone: from the more theoretical, to workshops, and the sharing of experience. All of this in an environment that will be non-sexual, non-erotic, but still - we hope! - deeply stimulating.

We are very excited to get to know everyone and, with you, build a more open and inclusive Future!

Important!

  • We understand that this is a sensitive topic, therefore, all members will have the right to use a pseudonym at events.
  • Due to the nature of our society, we cannot accept members under the age of 18.
