What is it?
So what is Plan G I hear you ask? This is a micro-site on the Students' Union website where we can communicate what we are doing for the environment we exist in but also a place where you can communicate with each other and a variety of topics. Named by students, for students!
We only have one planet, so lets appreciate it. The weird, the wonderful and the wacky aspects of life on campus from an environmental perspective.
What can you do during your time at Anglia Ruskin University, regardless of which campus you are on, to improve the impact we have on the environment? That might be thinking about how much water you use in your home, turning the lights off, putting a bird feeder up and many other simple initiatives.
2014-15 will see the fourth year of our "Green Pitch" competiton where students can submit ideas to increase awareness around or enhance initiatives at the University on the topics of: Reducing Waste, Encouraging Biodiversity, Travelling Green, Supporting Fairtrade, Saving Water and Saving Energy. With a large pot of money available, the opportunities are endless, so get your green thinking caps on and watch this space for more information for the 2014 competition.
Calling all students!

We encourage all our staff and students to take part in our environmental initiatives.
We have taken part in the Green Impact Students' Union award since 2007 and for the past eight years have been achieved a Silver Award.
In 2012-13 we also took part in the Green Impact Universities award and achieved a Gold Award.
Since 2011 we have held "Make a difference" days every year in October where staff spend a day volunteering in the local community. We have volunteered in activities from clearing waste land to painting and gardening to path laying! You can see pictures of our Make a difference days in 2011, 2012 and 2013
