Hurrah! We are thrilled to finally announce our new space in Chelmsford, Café 92, will be opening its doors in April! This will be on the ground floor of Tindal, which we’ve been working on for a while, so sorry you guys haven’t been able to use it. But we promise the wait will be worth it! The official launch will be on the 10th of April (but this may change, so keep a look out) and we hope to see you there. Here’s ten reasons you should be getting as excited as we are.

1. It’s going to look absolutely fab!

We’re sure most of you know how fantastic our new space in Cambridge looks? Well, don’t expect anything less from Café 92! You can check out the plans on our website to have a sneaky peek. It’s going to have a whole variety of seating, sofas and booths, desks, power points where you can charge your laptops, society lockers and a trophy cabinet, and a bookable meeting room with video conferencing facilities.

2. We plan to hold loads of events here.

We want this space to be inclusive of all our students, and a place where you guys can enjoy yourself and relax. We will be holding events here such as quizzes, movie nights and karaoke and we can’t wait to see how you guys enjoying your new space.

3. The food is going to be SO good!

The menu hasn’t quite been finalised, but you are going to absolutely love what we’ve got in store. You’ll be able to get hot food here, main courses and snacks, giving you a great space to get a bite to eat with your friends, or while you’re studying.

4. As well as the drinks!

We’re also looking forward to the drinks! You can look forward to barista coffee, hot chocolate and specialty teas, as well as cocktails, mocktails and draught beer.

5. It’s going to be a great place for you and your friends to hang out.

Whether you want to chill out, grab a bite to eat, or have a drink at the bar, this is going to be a fantastic social space. Bring your friends, and find out what it’s all about – and try our new menu!

6. We plan to make it possible to order food on the SU app!

Now this is extremely exciting. We hope, in the near future, to make it possible for you to be able to order food on the SU app, and have it brought out to you. So you don’t need to stop the conversations flowing, or your studies, to get up and order!

7. You can bring your society meet ups here.

If you’re looking for a place to have a society meetings, look no further! When Café 92 is open, this is going to be a perfect place to bring your society, have a bite to eat, and talk about your ideas. You could also book the meeting room, and conference with students on other campuses if you need to.

8. It’s going to be a chilled out space to study in.

With the desks and power points, you will be able to bring your laptop and work here. You might also want to chill out on the sofas with your reading. The cool lighting will create a relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect chilled out place to study.

9. You can work on group projects here.

Bring your group here, grab a booth, and work on your project together. Whether it’s a group presentation, or you are all working on the same assignment together, you can bring your laptops, your notes, and work in a chilled and relaxed environment.
