1. You get to study at one of the top 350 organisations in the world!
In 2016 Anglia Ruskin University made it into the top 350 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and placed at joint 38th best in the UK. Not bad going eh? We’re so excited you’re coming to study here!
2. You get to be part of an awesome Students’ Union.
Not only do you get to study at a great university but you automatically get enrolled as a member of ARU Students’ Union (that’s us!) We work hard to represent each and every student, make your voice heard and create success together. We run societies, put on great nights out, offer you volunteering opportunities and free and impartial advice when you need it.
3. You get to live in an amazing city
Historic Cambridge is known for its beauty, bikes, idyllic coffee shops, punting and, of course, its university (that’s ARU, right?). With plenty of parks to relax in, cosy pubs and bars, plus picnic spots right by the river, you’ll have plenty to enjoy and explore, whether that’s history or a great night out.
Chelmsford plays host to ARU’s sparkling modern riverside campus and has plenty to offer. The city hosts V-Festival every summer in Hylands Park and even has its own ice-hockey team, Chelmsford Chieftains. Don’t be deceived by its size, the birthplace of radio and just a stone’s throw from London, Chelmsford is a city on the rise.
Peterborough is a great mix of the historic and the modern day. Its beautiful cathedral and plethora of surrounding museums and parks mean there’s plenty to get stuck into alongside its four sports stadiums, historic town centre and wide variety of cafes and bars.
4. More than a hundred societies to choose from
We run more than a hundred student led societies and even help you set up one of your own if that’s not enough! From cheerleading to the Harry Potter Society we aim to offer something for everyone, where you can explore your passions and interests together.
5. Our campaigns make change happen
Our amazing officer team has achieved so much and made students’ ideas into reality in 2016. From providing free Mental Health First Aid Training for students to campaigning for a women’s only hour in the gym, we help create change together. Power to the people!
