10 reasons why you should attend Global Week 2017
- It is truly a great opportunity to learn more from a wide range of different cultures whether it be sampling foods or even learning a new language.
- ‘Fun’ will be the word to describe this year’s Global Week as there will be many activities to attend including martial arts, volleyball and futsal.
It is the perfect time to socialise with your friends and make some new ones, while still having an amazing time you will never forget.- Ever wanted to get a tattoo, but never had the courage to get one? Have no fear as at this Global Week there will be free henna tattoos.
- One of the new events will be the ‘Alice in Wonderland International Tea Party’ hosted by the Tea and Hot Chocolate Society, so come along and have a cup of tea (or hot chocolate) with some of your favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland.
- If you fancy having a shot at winning some prizes you can get involved with the #MyWorld competition which is a great way to have fun and represent a culture or country.
For those who fancy staying a little later there will be the Global themed exchange with drinks from the bar which will be well worth going to.- Put your knowledge to the test with the International sports quiz and find out how much you have learnt throughout the event. You can even challenge your friends to see who scored the best.
- If you are feeling particularly active and fancy a dance there will be Belly Dancing, Scottish Dancing Demonstrations and Bollywood Dancers.
Finally this is one of the biggest events in the academic calendar and is the best opportunity to get different cultures heard and develop an all-round appreciation and respect for them. This is the time for us all to come together, share and have an awesome time.
