So I’ve been working away now for two weeks and I’m finally bedding in (I have plants on my desk and have adjusted my chair to the right height…)

I can see a theme developing in terms of each week being an extraordinary one here at ARSU. This week I was up in Leeds at the Workers in Democracy and Representation conference along with a number of other staff from our four campuses listening to loads of presentations about how to improve things for students.

As can happen with conferences, I’ve come away with loads of amazing ideas to bring to the reps of Cambridge campus. The representation team at ARSU are really leading the way with training- this year our Course Reps will have so many opportunities to develop themselves with skills and knowledge sessions through-out the year. It’s going to be amazing and you’ve in a great position to be involved.

With A level results in (hope everyone is happy with what they got) students arriving seems like it’s just around the corner. I’m really looking forward to getting going with all the welcome talks for year ones and hoping I can sneak my way into some of the later year’s lecture groups.

All I can say so far (because everyone likes a surprise) if watch this space- the world of Course Rep training and the Course Rep structure here at ARSU is changing and it’s very exciting times!

If you want to know any more rep related info, pop me an email on: j.clare@angliastudent.com

Have a great long weekend.
