Recycling your rubbish on campus is now easier as a result of the University's new waste and recycling contractors. University is rolling out new orange ‘mixed recycling‘ bins that allow you to recycle a range of materials rather than needing to put them in separate bins. Wherever you see the new orange ‘Mixed Recycling‘ bins you will be able to deposit the range of materials displayed in the below table, this will make recycling easier and also increase the amount we recycle by reducing contamination of separate waste streams. Please help us to achieve our recycling and recovery target of 60% by July 2015, this will also help us save money, as it costs us half as much to dispose of mixed recycling than general waste.

Win a Kindle Fire!

Our Recycling Quiz is open until the end of November! All you need to do is answer 5 short questions and all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 2 Kindle Fire's that have been sponsored by our new waste contractors; Veolia and AmeyCespa.

We are in the middle of rolling out new orange mixed recycling bins to offices and classrooms, making disposing of recycling easier and quicker. If you have any questions please email the Environment Team
