We are pleased to announce the first QRSE conference for students and early career researchers, which will be hold online and hosted by the School of Psychology and Sport Science at Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge, UK) on the 8th and 9th April 2021, with a series of pre-conference events starting on 6th April.

The aim of this conference is to use the online format as an opportunity for a rich conference experience dedicated to qualitative research, with a focus and an opportunity to shine, gain experience, learn, and network for ECR and students. The conference aims to be an inclusive and innovative addition to the QRSE Calendar.

The conference will showcase a series of different events, which will be developed via different platforms, allowing everyone to enjoy the content and avoid any ‘Zoom-fatigue’. Oral presentations and poster sessions will be reinvented in their virtual form, and they will be complemented by invited keynotes, a series of small, pre-bookable ‘Coffee with the Expert’ events, and some online entertainment events. The conference will also have a series of evening warm-up events called ‘In conversation with’, setting the scene and provoking dialogue in the lead up to the conference.

QRSE has been at the forefront of supporting and representing qualitative researchers within the field of sport, exercise, and health.  This conference aims to continue that tradition by showcasing the work of early career researchers and PhD students, offering the chance to interact with experts and networking with others in the field from around the world. Reimagining the conference in the online space has provided an opportunity to explore ways to create an engaging and user-friendly experience. 

With this in mind, we hope to include a wide group of presenters and attendees and we wish to warmly welcome you to the first ECR and Student QRSE 2021 conference and to this flourishing community!
