For anyone living with mental health problems, talking about it with anyone - let alone a mental health professional may seem scary and difficult. Even intimidating. For men in particular, who've been told all their lives to "man up" and "be strong" accessing mental health resources can be seen as going against cultural expectations.
Over the past several years however, there has been growing activism and interest around the subjects of men's mental health, partly thanks to those in the media spotlight who've been vocal about their own experience. It is so important to speak up and fight stigma so more men can start to seek help.
