ARU is committed to securing race equality at ARU for staff and students. Nothing less is acceptable. Join us for our upcoming Educate Sessions, developed by student Race Equality Advocates. In these lunchtime sessions, Advocates will expand on themes related to race equality and the different ways in which racism manifests. This session is part of the Diversity and Cultural Change team’s Unlearn Series, which offer an opportunity to become more aware of the power structures within which we live and work so that we can begin to unlearn deep-rooted beliefs that perpetuate racism.
Session Presenters: Dominique Mirabella and Kuda Timba
This session aims to explain and expand on the idea of code switching. What is it? Why do people do it ? Why do some need to do it more than others?
Further information and updates for students can be found on the My ARU Race Equality Advocates page: https://myaru.sharepoint.com/sites/student-life/SitePages/race-equality-advocates.aspx#unlearning-sessions .
