My name is Chloe Firman and I am in my second year of studying BSc Medical Science. I would like to become a Course Representative as I would like to produce positive improvements for the benefit of my fellow students. I consider myself to be approachable and dedicated to this cause.

I believe that I am a suitable candidate as I have obtained previous experience in this role as a Sixth Form Student Representative. This enabled me to develop a range of skills including leadership and responsibility, whilst having the opportunity to voice the opinions of my peers to a higher platform; in order to be heard. As an acknowledgement of my commitment and dedication to the Student Representative role, I was frequently invited to provide speeches to Senior Management expressing pupils concerns, suggestions and issues.

My pledge is to achieve the best possible outcome in the Medical Science faculty. Therefore, my primary goal is to encourage and increase students’ attendance up to a minimum of 85%. I have confidence that this will greatly improve their learning experience; to achieve this I believe more interactivity with students such as mobile quizzes E.g. ‘Sporcle’, as well as fortnightly tests to recap which will enable students to monitor their progress and identify the areas which they need to improve.

Additionally I am committed to creating a work experience partnership scheme within the Medicine and Healthcare sector.  This promotes and builds strong links with businesses; as a result this will attract prospective students and benefit the learning of existing students.

Finally, I aim to produce a Medical Society which will include utilising the £500 funding that is available towards course related activities/visits E.g. science museums and laboratories.

I am passionate to put my manifesto policy into action in order to support and encourage students’ full potential, in order to gain and maintain an exceptional student experience.
