BETHANY ANDERSON

As a third year philosophy and English literature student I feel I can bring a lot of experience to the role. I believe I am the only student in my year who has continued to study both subjects. From my point of view this shows dedication and a love for both subjects.

As I am the only student left studying both subjects I will be reliant on my course peers to raise any issues they may have surrounding their individual courses.

What I will bring to the role:

  • ideas surrounding the lectures themselves, how they could be taught in a way that doesn’t seem like information is just being thrown at a student
  • More group/pair study during seminars to gauge more points of view
  • Student - tutor feedback, instead of the end of year feedback perhaps every 6 weeks an online anonymous quiz at the start of the seminar to see what your course peers wish to improve on
  • Dissertation workshops, as this is a particularly stressful year for third years and some subjects only have independent meetings perhaps some set dissertation workshops to guide students

These are only a few of the ideas that have already been raised and our being used in my lectures particularly. As an aspiring teacher I feel this role would give me some of the skills needed to go on and teach a class so I would be extremely appreciative of the role.
