ABBY POLLOCK

My name is Abby Pollock and I am in my first year at ARU studying Film and Media.

I have studied media and cinema for the last 5 years. To me Film and Media is not just a subject, it is a passion and love of mine. I want to ensure this is represented in everything the University offers on our course.

I know that as a first year it can be difficult and challenging to suddenly indulge in a brand-new experience and role like this.  However I believe I have the skills, enthusiasm and manners to represent you effectivey by listening to, and understanding what my fellow scholars expect and need to be provided for them.

As the Media and Film Studies Student Representative I hope to ensure that all the students on our course will be not only learning about media and film, but they will be part of fantastic experience, where they can contribute freely and shape their studies.  I also want everyone to enjoy and appreciate what they are researching while having fun too. This is a manifesto I have and always will believe in.

My vision includes the following:

I will listen to every student and make sure their voice is heard through strong communication and I will represent this fairly to the course leaders.

I will support an individual's right to hold and offer honest opinions and encourage diversity  and equality for all, making sure that international students have a voice.

I want to help make students’ lives a happy and inspiring experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. If I can contribute to that in any way then that is enough.
