Candidate for the position of LLB (Hons) Law - Year 3 Rep September (Cambridge)

MISS CLAUDIA WHYMARK

Hey guys!

This won't be the usual manifesto as I don't want to waste your time with buzzwords and unnecesary capitals and exclamation marks...
I want to be your Course Rep this year because I did it last year and I loved it. We are so lucky to be able to tell our lecturers when what they are doing isn't benefitting us. The best part is that the lecturers actually listen! I wouldn't be applying to be Course Rep again if I didn't feel like I had made a difference last year. I believe that I am good at compiling both the negative and positive feedback that you as students give me, and expressing them in a concise and constructive way to the lecturers. I seem to have a good relationship with the lecturers and I believe that helps with regard to discussing possible changes. The reason I want to become a Family Barrister in the future is that not only do I love a competitive discussion and public speaking, I really enjoy helping people. As course Rep I get the opportunity to do that. And if you are thinking that maybe I am just saying that to win your vote, remember that any changes I make, or omit to make, also impact me. It is in my best interests for our course to run as smoothly as possible. This is our last year, and consequently the most important year for us to be letting our lecturers know when something is wrong or needs to improve. I would love it if you would give me the opportunity to be the person who gets things done!

Thanks for reading,

Claudia Whymark
