Who am I?

My name is Laura Douds, and I am your current SU Vice President (Science and Technology).

Why do I want to go to National Conference?

I care deeply about national student issues, and keep track of what's going on in the wider student landscape. I want to make my opinions heard at National Conference and vote on issues that affect students all over the country, as well as those closer to home. As someone who sees and speaks with dozens of students every day - who is better placed to be your voice?

Why me?

I will be bringing the voice of the ARU students with me to the National Conference.

I will attempt to do this by making the issues being voted on known ahead of time to the general student body, and I'll collect feedback on them so that I can make an informed vote, instead of relying on my own opinions to be the basis of my vote.

I will then try and promote the decisions that were actually made, regardless of whether my vote was on the winning or losing side, so that students are more aware of what's going on at the national level.
