Candidate for the position of MA Social Work - Year 1 Rep - Chelmsford

MRS REBECCA NICHOLLS

Dear fellow Social Work MA students.

I would very much like to take this opportunity to represent our cohort.  I feel I have a lot to offer the role due to my own personal experience with my previouis university.  I recently had to fight quite hard for my student rights and I am consequently very familiar with what Student Union can provide for students as well as when it is necessary to apply for extenuating or mitigating circumstances.for assignments etc.  It would be really good for me to turn my previous adverse circumstances into something positive as I have an awful lot of acquired experience of students rights, both procedural and legal.   I also have a legal background and I used to be a Citizens Advice advisor so I believe this will help.

As well as being able to represent our cohort in a supportive way, I would enjoy arranging social events and also looking at some practical matters.  It would be really good if we had a room with access to a microwave especially as many of us are on a budget. and cannot afford to eat in the canteen.  I am not sure if this is possible, but I think it is worth looking into.

As a mature student, I believe that I can relate to both young and mature students equally and I am committed to doing my best for everyone and being an advocate for issues that are important to our cohort.   I can commit to all the training that is necessary for the role and attend the meetings as I live locally.  I am also committed to do my very best for all of you.

I hope that you might consider voting me into this role.

Best Wishes.

Rebecca
