JOY AWOH

MANISFESTO FOR FACULTY REP-LAIBS (CHEMSFORD)

WHO AM I?

Hi, my name is Joy Awoh, I am an MSc Accounting & Finance student and I am running/vying for the position of Faculty Rep-LAIBS.

ANGLIA RUSKIN UNIVERSITY AND I

My stay so far in great institution of ours has been very illuminating.  I am currently a senior intern with the LAIBS faculty, I was also a member of the deputy dean’s advisory committee and having acquired a lot skills from the LAIBS intern programme, i would want to give it back to move the faculty forward.

I have been involved in open day, welcome, volunteer, providing me great opportunity to interact with students as well as parents.  While carrying out these tasks, I took note of areas of the campus and student life that requires more attention in addition to the efforts of current and past SU to protect the interests of the students without endangering/compromising the pursuit of this great institution.

Also, my previous work experience in a multinational company handling claims and complaints settlement goes to show I have an understanding of what it entails to interface/mediate between two aggrieved parties – achieving a win-win resolution for both parties and having everyone living happily thereafter.

THE STUDENT UNION AND I

I am venturing into this bid due to my passion for motivating, inspiring and serving people on the bedrock of utmost transparency, patience and integrity.

If voted in I want to achieve the following when voted in for this position;

  • Drive and promote any (all) existing good course set down by my predecessor.
  • Promote the students’ interest by acting as an interface between the student and the university staff. Hear from the students on their ideas, views, worries, challenges and speak for them.
  • Be available and accessible to students and be able to channel their issues of concern to the appropriate sources (quarters).
  • Encourage and create a forum where students can freely and confidently express their concerns in order words feel at home on campus.
  • Help new students (first year & International) settle in easily by promoting student mentorship to help them.

I believe my intentions go to show I am suitable for this role.

Friends! It’s your call. Vote right, vote wisely.

Your vote is your voice!!!!!!!
