Hi, I’m Emma and I’m currently in my first year of studying Business and Human Resource Management. I moved here after hating the university and course which I originally started last year and wanted a completely fresh start. Since then I’ve had the attitude of getting involved in as much as I can and grasping every opportunity with both hands. Since October I have been Course Rep and have attended a wide range of different meetings and hearings and enjoyed every second of it. This is why I would love to be voted as your Faculty Rep for LAIBS, to enable me to take this role even further and continue growing in confidence.

As Faculty Rep, I would like to introduce more integration between year groups as it can be quite a daunting process in starting university and it’s always nice to know someone in the year above you who has been through everything you are going through and can lend a helping hand. I would do this by introducing an informal buddy style scheme. I have also noticed a lack of business related societies, meaning there isn’t such a social aspect of the course. I would like to remedy this by encouraging the creation of such societies to allow more like minded people to get to know each other for social and learning purposes.
