-----

I have a MANIFESTO VIDEO!

Check it out and tell me what you think!

Here are each of my campaign points explained in more detail:

Free Printing

  • I put this idea through in November 2016
  • I am currently campaigning for it with Academic Officer Grace Anderson
  • As result, we hope to install a free printer on both the Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses
  • Funds from Books Plus cards to be used for printing is also currently being discussed

Better Food

  • Food in the canteen is often bland, the same every day, and expensive
  • The SU President Leigh Rooney is currently campaigning for this as part of the Increased Equality for Vegan Student policy.
  • I will continue with this by working to increase the options and cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
  • I will survey what students think of the food, what foods students would like to eat, and take this feedback into account.
  • I will propose a free cooking course for the canteen staff, which is currently being implemented in Cambridge University

Clearer Communication

  • Currently there are two separate websites where students can access information: the University website and Students’ Union website. While it is good to keep these separate, finding the required information can prove difficult.
  • I propose to create a platform, which brings this information together.
  • An online Magazine is currently being planned and started by Media Students, and this might be an excellent platform to share information between the Students, the Students' Union and the University.
  • Students’ Union has increased use of videos recently, which is brilliant, and I want to continue this, as well as increase the use of social media for updating what is going on in the SU and the University.

Support for International Students

  • It can be difficult to integrate to a new culture and study environment, and even though there is support available, it may not be sufficient or visible enough.
  • I want to make the support more accessible and approachable so that anyone will feel welcome to seek help.
  • I will survey International Students about their experiences to make student-led improvements.
  • I will also want to make the Cambridge Campus International Society as successful as it already is in Chelmsford. I will work with Nanci (International Students Unite), who is running as the International Rep in Cambridge, to create a friendly, active and welcoming community.

Thank you, now it's your time to make your voice heard!
