DESTINY UNGERER

Hi, my name is Destiny, and I am running for the mental health rep position at Cambridge.

I feel as though I am an easy person to talk to and want to be there for all my peers at ARU.

This current period is a very rough one and it has been difficult for a lot of people in many ways.

I want to be there to help and support everyone in any way possible that I can. I would like to be someone people can come to talk to and feel confident to do so.

Mental health is not just one thing, and it can’t just be put under one title – there are many different aspects, it can affect your emotional, social and psychological well-being.

Even though things are starting to look up in the world, not everyone will have the same feelings about the current situation and that is important. There is nothing wrong with how anyone is feeling, and I would like to find ways that people can talk freely about issues they may be having and find solutions that work for them. A solution that may work for one person may not work for another and that is perfectly okay.

A lot of people have been stuck at home and have not been able to go into university. This could have taken a toll on your mental health. I would like to find ways to help with this issue and bring everyone together in any way possible.

Even without the pandemic in the mix, mental health is very important, and we all need to always look after ourselves and each other. We need to come together and be there for each other.
