This year as the University Residential Assistant, Course Representative and Alumni Engagement co-ordinator I have demonstrated what is possible with my determination, drive and passion which has led to huge improvements for the residential services, staff-student communications and has helped solve numerous problems students faced especially during the pandemic. I will continue demonstrating what is possible as YOUR SU Vice President for HEMS and drive forward improvements that YOU want to see!

 

WHAT I HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED AS :

  • UNIVERSITY RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT
  • COURSE REPRESENTATIVE
  • ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT CO-ORDINATOR

 

  • Assisted residents by signposting them to use services and support agencies by being the first point of contact for the customers.
  • Ensured customer satisfaction by carrying out tasks like cleaning, decoration and emergency check-ups.
  • Assisted the team with the training of health measures needed to be taken while on campus.
  • Assisted in the successful weekly fire alarm drill evacuation procedure of 700 students. 
  • Resolved conflicts within the accommodation campus.
  • Provided support and information to residents in situations of distress or uncertainty.
  • Assisted in maintaining good public relations with residents and the residential services team by providing a customer satisfactory service.
  • Carrying out patrolling services concerning the safety and security of the students on the campus.
  • Analysing the feedback data and acting as a student leader representative voice thereby solving the problems faced by the students.
  • Ensuring smooth communication between the students and the university for the flow of relevant information needed by the student during their time as a student.

WHAT I WILL ACHIEVE AS YOUR PRESIDENT!

  • Take a lead on issues that affect our student body at ARU.
  • Provide any kind of support to the students further develop their learning experience.
  • Develop an all-inclusive programme of events that tailor to the diversity of students at ARU.
  • Ensure we have the BEST healthcare and education facility in the university and opportunities that are widely promoted.
  • Review our core issues and feedback to ensure it is clear what we do for you as YOUR Students’ Union and all students are aware of our services.
  • Ensure students are able to avail all the university resources that the university provides for students to secure a placement or job opportunity.
  •  Supporting the student ideas that leads to innovation and carrer growth opportunities by providing them with the highest possible support both at the university and at external opportunities.
  • Supporting women and LGBT community will be one of the important task that I will be taking on as these things need special importance and needs to be dealt with utmost care.
  • My upfront task would be to support all the students  that have been effected by Covid crisis. As we all know, how much this has effected each one of us individually and needs and individual attention for every type of scenario.
