Hello All!

My name is Calli Dale (she/her), and I wish to nominate myself for the position as your trans rep in Cambridge.

I am currently in my third and final year as a student nurse, I came out as a transgender woman about a year ago during my time at ARU, I have been able to get a feel for the positives and negatives which come with being transgender in the current climate.

If chosen for this role I would like to focus on a few different areas:

• I would like to set up better tailored support for every trans person in ARU this includes binary and non-binary students.
• I would like to create a meet up space for transgender students once a week, due to Covid I would like to start these on zoom or teams depending on the feedback I get.
• Finally, I want to make the trans community more visible throughout the uni, I would like to put on events for trans students and the other LGBTQ+ members throughout ARU.

 I will be using links with the LGBTQ+ society and LGBT rep to achieve this.

Throughout my nurse training and being a student, I have proven I’m an approachable figure with my peers as well as the staff. This is a key skill which I will be using to help other transgender students also to help educate other students/ staff on the transgender community.
