Andy Brice

Hello Students

Please take a look at my manifesto to run for the Faculty Rep for Business and Law

My name is Andy and I am first year LLB undergradute and also a course rep for first year LLB law students in Cambridge.

I have decided to stand for Vice President for the Business and Law faculty I beleive I can undertake the next step and run for Business and Law VP.

Being a disabled student myself, I would dearly love to continue the sterling work that Mary Copsey who is the current VP for Business and Law  has started with the #ARUAccessible campaign and make university life as fun and accessible to as many students as possible.

I also beleive that mental health is an important issue, it is an every day issue but more so important at university, as a person who struggles with this on a daily basis, I feel it is a really important part of student life and one that cannot be ignored. If I am elected, I will also start 'Lets be honest 2' which is a follow up to 'Lets be honest' which was a report run in 2016/17 which looked into students mental health. There will be an update on the report and also I would collate new information from the current cohort of students.

I would also look at class disruption, I am aware how frustraing this can be especially during vital lectures coming up to assignments as well as if important information is being delivered. I would suggest a 'three strike rule' for students as well as a zero tolerance on tapping into lectures late.

I would also try and get lecture times increased from 8 hours per week to 10+ so that international students can benefit and pressure on students is reduced and lectures can be delivered at a slower pace so that international students feel they are getting value for money and also any students like myself who have athrtitic or neurological problems which causes pain in hands and wrists are not struggling to catch up.

I will also make sure that YOUR voice is delivered and listened to at all levels of academic decision making.

Thank you for reading

Andy
