CAROLINE HILL

WHO AM I ?

Hello, my name is Caroline and I am running for the position of President of the Students Union. I am a 3rd year Software Development Student based on the Chelmsford campus. I am a determined and driven individual who enjoys life. I am committed to contribute my time and energy to create positive changes that students want to see. I want the students at Anglia Ruskin University to know that I am someone who can be trusted. I will put all my efforts with the students union, into making University Life an unforgettable experience that will remain with you forever.

WHY ME ?

I am an approachable friendly happy go lucky person and I have really enjoyed my time at Anglia Ruskin University as an undergraduate. I would like to make sure that all students attending the university feel the same. I have what it takes to help maintain the success and progress of the student’s union. I am really keen to meet and engage with new students on a day to day basis and I fully understand the realities of student life.

During my time at Anglia Ruskin University I have seen some of the biggest changes and I am excited to continue this momentum. I have fully involved myself in student life from taking part in University Competitions to joining the Archery Club and setting up a society, volunteering with young people. This year I have taken on the Role of Disabled Student representative Chelmsford and I also identify as LGBTQ. These opportunities that I have relished taking on illustrate my commitment to university life.

AIMS

  1. To improve off campus accommodation problems by creating a database that provides a comprehensive list of accessible accommodations that are vetted by the university. Accommodation will be checked thoroughly prior to  going on the database to help avoid some problems that have been indicated in the rent report. This aims to promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
  2. To listen and be friendly and approachable, putting students concerns at the heart of the students Union.  My aim is to hold weekly chats in person and through social media, to identify the real issues that students face at the earliest opportunity, so as to create a positive change and impact.
  3. To start an initiative of professional collaboration between students from all disciplines.
  4. To work as a team player I am a team player myself and will work hard with colleagues to improve student lives and learning at Anglia Ruskin University.
  5. To be a strong president that fully represents all groups of  students at high level meetings.
  6. To increase postgraduate, placement students, parents as students, careers as students, parttime students, distance learners, mature students, international, BAME, Disabled and LGBTQ participation and awareness by setting up open forums working with groups to ensure support structures are in place.

When you’ve Got Caroline Hill, Flaunt it!!!
