Elizabeth Hemmings

Who am I?

My name is Elizabeth Hemmings, a first year Business and Hospitality Management student at Anglia Ruskin University London. I am currently also a Course Representative for my cohort.

I would be honoured to serve in the capacity of Vice President (ARU London) 2020. My passion to stand as Vice President has emanated from my experience as a Course Representative which has ignited a hunger in me to move up further in serving the student body in order to make a difference.

Why Vote for Me?

I am receptive, pleasant and steadfast. I have what it takes to help make a difference as Vice President, enhancing student experience in all areas. With an enthusiastic personality, I am eager to meet new people and interact with students on a daily basis. I will endeavour to use my vice-presidency to serve the student body earnestly and sincerely.

What I Will Do if You Elect Me:

Communication:

  • I will pay attention to your voices and take active steps to initiate the changes you want to see.
  • Speaking to represent your opinions unequivocally, politely and constructively to the university and giving you feedback.

Trust and Teamwork:

  • I am prudent and empathetic when dealing with delicate matters, so students can be assured that I will maintain their confidences.
  • As a team player, I vow to work diligently with my colleagues to enhance your lives and learning experiences at ARU London.

Learning:

  • Establishing a forum to inspire students with learning difficulties to exchange tips and ideas, coping strategies and departmental assistance.
  • Sourcing for practical help and advice from a peer point of view as opposed to institutional ideas.
  • My aim is for students to believe in their capability and have confidence to try new things and work hard to go beyond their expectations.
  • Furthermore, endeavouring to create awareness amongst the teaching staff on students with learning difficulties in order to get more support for students.
