Hi, My name is Katrina Carter and I am running for the position of HEMS Faculty Rep because I strongly believe in the power of the student's voice and making our experience at university the most rewarding that it can be.
I'm a mature student... let's just put that out there - I'm 40 - but with that age has brought a wealth of experience in working in business, and knowing how difficult it can be making the jump from university to the workforce. I have previous experience in relationship management, people management, apprentice mentoring and training, and have developed the following skills:
- I'm easy to talk to;
- I have experience working with people of all ages and positions;
- I am passionate about building positive relationships between students, faculty and the university; and
- I have experience of getting the best out of learning opportunities.
- I am a very engaged student - I'm always the first to offer help to others and be the best friend I can be to people.
I believe these skills make me an ideal candidate.
If elected I would aim to:
- Continue to work with our Faculties representatives to develop excellent resources for us to explore our study, making our experiences at ARU more beneficial and relatable to the workforce.
- I will put my heart and soul into the role to ensure I work hard to represent ALL HEMS students and the Students Union to the best of my ability
- I will make sure your opinion and concerns are heard and addressed promptly.
